Each year on 4th Feb, World Cancer Day empowers all of us across the world to show support, raise our collective voice take personal action and address our governments to contribute more. World Cancer Day is the only day on the health calendar where we can be under one banner of cancer in a positive and inspiring way.

The scorpion sting

Cancer is a disease that not only destroys the affected organ but also impacts the overall body system. The scorpion sting is so harsh that it depresses the patient and he loses his hope of living.

Around 9.6 million people die from cancer every year. 70% of cancer deaths occur in low to mid-income countries. The total annual economic cost of cancer is around the U.S $1.16 trillion.

The risk factors include both modifiable and non-modifiable.

Modifiable are Alcohol, Tobacco, Infections, Diet whereas Non-modifiable is age, genetics, immune system, etc.

Origin of World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day was established on 4th of February 2000 at the World Summit Against Cancer for the millennium in Paris. The Paris Charter aims to promote research, prevent cancer, raise awareness and make the global community progress against cancer.

World Cancer Day has created a humongous impact across the globe. They have published more than 14 thousand articles in 145 countries. Also, they have organized 985 events in 137 countries. Moreover, 45 active governments have contributed to this move.

World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control, the largest and oldest international cancer organization. It is completely dedicated to taking the lead in addressing, capacity building and advocacy initiatives. All of these can unite the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and integrate cancer control into the world’s health and development.

How can you become a part of this revolution and fight cancer?

Every individual action has the potential to make a difference for ourselves, our loved ones and the world.

  1. The corporate companies are powerful initiators to make a positive change. Free screening for cancer can be initiated as a part of CSR.
  2. Be an active volunteer in all the cancer awareness events taking place in your city. 
  3. As a healthcare professional, your voice and words matter. Appeal your opinion to people and create awareness.
  4. Cancer organizations around the world have the opportunity to unite under a single banner and speak with a collective voice for a global impact for fight against cancer.

    I think that you should even put what one should eat and not to avoid cancer I know that one can’t avoid it since ,one of the reason of cancer is that there is no reason but still
